How the in-hand is worked out
Your CTC of 6 LPA is the total cost to the company, not your take-home. Two parts of it, the employer PF contribution and the gratuity provision, are not paid to you in cash each month, so they come off first to give your gross salary. From the gross, your own PF, professional tax and income tax are deducted to reach the in-hand figure.
Because the taxable income here is within the ₹12,00,000 rebate under the new regime, income tax is nil. Professional tax varies by state; ₹2,400 a year is a common figure. Change any of these in the salary calculator.

What is the in-hand salary for 6 LPA CTC?
For a 6 LPA (₹600,000) CTC in 2025-26, the in-hand salary is about ₹42,598 per month, or ₹5,11,170 a year, after employee PF, professional tax and income tax under the new regime. Employer PF and the gratuity provision are part of CTC but not paid in cash each month.
Why is the in-hand less than 6 LPA?
CTC includes the employer PF contribution and a gratuity provision, which are not paid to you in cash each month. Your own PF, professional tax and income tax are then deducted from the gross to reach the in-hand figure.
How can I increase my in-hand salary?
A lower basic percentage reduces PF deductions and raises cash in hand (but lowers retirement savings), and staying within the ₹12,00,000 taxable rebate keeps income tax at zero under the new regime. Use the calculator to try different splits.
