What a supervisor does, and how the wage is set
Supervisors run a shift on the ground: they allocate workers, mark attendance, check quality and report to the client and the office. Because they carry responsibility for a team and its output, they are paid a grade above the workers they lead, usually the skilled or highly-skilled rate.
A supervisor typically does team allocation, attendance marking, quality checks and client reporting, work generally classified as skilled for minimum-wage purposes, so use the skilled category in the table above for the base rate. A supervisor or a specialised supervisor may sit a grade higher and must be paid more. Supervisors are commonly deployed at factories, sites, security agencies and facility contracts.

What employers must do
- Pay every supervisor at least the notified minimum for their category and zone. Paying below it is an offence.
- Pay overtime at twice the ordinary rate for work beyond normal hours.
- Maintain a wage register, muster roll and wage slips, and pay within the wage period.
- Update payroll at each revision so no worker slips below the new minimum.
