How Delhi sets this minimum wage
Delhi sets one set of minimum wages that applies across the whole of the National Capital Territory, with no zones. Rates are fixed by skill category (unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled), with separate clerical and supervisory grades based on education.
Figures are notified per month, and the per-day rate is that monthly figure spread over a 26-day month.
Delhi's rates are revised as the Dearness Allowance is updated against the cost-of-living index, typically twice a year. The rates on this page apply for 1 April 2026.
What employers must do
Classify each housekeeping worker correctly: a plain housekeeping worker doing cleaning, sweeping, mopping and sanitation is unskilled, while a supervisor or specialised housekeeping worker may sit a category higher and must be paid more. Pay overtime at twice the ordinary rate, keep a wage register and wage slips, and update payroll whenever Delhi revises its rates.
