How Uttar Pradesh sets its minimum wages

Uttar Pradesh fixes minimum wages under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, across roughly 74 scheduled employments. Workers are classified as unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled, and the table above shows the general rates. Some districts are notified at higher rates: in Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida), for example, the wage is higher, at about ₹13,690 unskilled, ₹15,059 semi-skilled and ₹16,868 skilled per month.

The wage includes a variable dearness allowance (VDA) linked to the Consumer Price Index, so it is revised roughly every six months. The current revision covers 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2026, with the next revision expected from 1 October 2026. Because rates vary by scheduled employment and district, always confirm the figure for your specific employment in the latest notification.
