How it works
- Open Celebrations to see birthdays, work anniversaries with years, new joiners and confirmations for the month, and move to any other month.
- Switch between list and calendar views, and filter by kind and department.
- Click Wish, pick a suggested message or write your own, and send it.
- A wish sent early, up to 30 days before, is kept and delivered on the day; a belated wish is accepted up to 7 days after.
- On the day, the wish is added as a comment on the celebration post on the wall, and the person gets a bell.
- Managers see the next 30 days of their team's celebrations on My Team, with the same Wish button.
What you can set
- Kinds: birthday, work anniversary, new joiner, confirmation.

- Early wishes: up to 30 days before, delivered on the day.

Why remembering dates matters
A wish on a work anniversary costs nothing and is remembered for a long time, especially by people on night shifts or at distant sites who rarely meet the head office team. Relying on a manager's memory or a birthday list pinned in the HR cabin misses people. When the dates come from the employee record and the reminder reaches everyone, the quiet storekeeper gets the same wishes as the popular sales lead.
Worked example: one week in a Mohali support centre
A 150-seat customer support centre in Mohali opens Celebrations on a Friday afternoon. The coming week has two birthdays, Gurpreet's fifth work anniversary on Monday and three new joiners on Wednesday. Gurpreet's team lead will be travelling on Monday, so she sends her wish on Friday. ZeniaHR keeps it, and on Monday it appears under the 07:00 celebration post with the other wishes. A colleague back from leave on Wednesday wishes one of the birthdays two days late, which is still inside the seven-day window.
Making celebrations inclusive
Celebrations should make people feel noticed, not put on the spot. A few habits keep them warm without pressure, and they matter most for people who are new, junior or working away from the main office, who are easy to forget.
- Respect people who hide their birthday, and do not announce it another way.
- Welcome new joiners on day one with a wish from their manager.
- Mark confirmations, because finishing probation is a milestone for the employee.
- Keep wishes short and personal rather than copied.

How do I get birthday reminders for employees?
Open Celebrations in ZeniaHR to see every birthday and work anniversary for the month, or look at the next 30 days on My Team if you are a manager. Each morning at 07:00 the day's celebrations are also posted on the company wall, and today's list shows on the HR dashboard.
Can I wish a colleague after their birthday has passed?
Yes, for up to 7 days after the day. The wish is added to that day's celebration post on the wall and the person gets a bell. After seven days the Wish option closes, so a belated wish then has to go by message or in person.
Does the work anniversary show the number of years?
Yes. Work anniversaries show how many years the person has completed, for example 5 years, on the Celebrations page and in the wish suggestions. Birthdays never show a year or age, because celebrations use only the day and month of the birth date.
Are confirmations shown as celebrations?
Yes. When HR confirms someone from the probation queue, the confirmation appears on the Celebrations page for that date, next to birthdays, work anniversaries and new joiners. Colleagues can wish them in the same way, and the wish reaches them as a bell.
