Key responsibilities

  • Prepare the dental chair and tray before each patient with the instruments and materials for the planned procedure.
  • Assist the dentist chairside during fillings, root canals, extractions and scaling, handling suction and retraction.
  • Mix composites, glass ionomer, alginate impressions and temporary cements to the right consistency.
  • Clean, pack and autoclave instruments, and keep sterilization indicator results and autoclave logs.
  • Disinfect the chair, light and surfaces between patients, and segregate biomedical waste into the right bins.
  • Take intraoral radiographs with the RVG sensor on the dentist's instruction and save images to the patient file.
  • Schedule appointments, confirm them by call or message, and manage the waiting area.
  • Keep stock of dental materials and order refills before they run out.
  • Explain post-treatment instructions to patients after extractions and root canal visits.
  • Pack and send impressions to the dental lab, and follow up the return of crowns and dentures before the patient's visit.
