How it works
- HR or the company head opens the dashboard. The Today strip shows eight counts for the company's directly employed staff.
- Staff counts everyone on the rolls today; In office counts people who have punched in and are working.
- Absent counts people whose shift has started with no punch yet; Not in yet counts people whose shift has not started.
- Clicking a count opens that tab of Live attendance: In now, Late, On break, Absent, Not in yet, Punched out or No punch-out yesterday.
- Absent today lists each absent person with their shift start, and On leave today lists each person's leave type and marks half days.
- Open Attendance Punches leads to the full live board, with department and shift filters.
What you can set
- Today strip: Staff, In office, On break, Late, Absent, Not in yet, On leave and Punched out.
- Live attendance tabs: In now, Late, On break, Absent, Not in yet, Punched out and No punch-out yesterday.
- Absent rule: the shift has started and there is no punch; people without a fixed shift start count as absent from 11 am.
- On leave today: the leave type, with half days marked.
- Refresh: every 60 seconds, or on demand.
- Scope: the viewer's attendance data scope.
Why eight numbers are enough to start the day
HR heads do not need every punch at 9:45 am; they need to know whether today is a normal day. Eight numbers do that. An absent count twice the usual, a late count that has jumped, or a long list of people who did not punch out yesterday each tells HR where to look first. The people behind each number are one click away, so the strip never hides the detail; it simply puts it in order.
Worked example: a Monday morning at a Rajkot engineering firm
At 10:15 am on a Monday, the HR manager of a Rajkot engineering firm opens the dashboard. The strip shows 310 staff, 262 in office, 8 on break, 21 late, 14 absent, 6 not in yet, 18 on leave and 0 punched out. Of the 290 people expected today, 270 have punched in and 20 have not; the other 20 on the rolls are on leave or off.
Fourteen absent is double the usual Monday. HR clicks Absent and sees that eleven of them are from the Machining department on the 9 am shift. A call to the supervisor explains it: the company bus from Gondal broke down. HR asks the transport vendor for a second bus, and by 11 am the card shows 3 absent while the late count has risen by eleven. At month close HR waives the late penalties that day's breakdown caused.
Reading the strip well
The strip is most useful when HR knows what a normal day looks like for each number. A few weeks of checking it at the same time every morning builds that sense, and after that an odd number stands out at once.
- Look at the strip at the same time each morning, such as 10 am, so days compare fairly.
- Treat Absent and Not in yet differently: one is past the shift start, the other is not due yet.
- Clear yesterday's no punch-out list with managers before it turns into month-end corrections.
- Give the company head the dashboard instead of a daily attendance email.

What is the difference between absent and not in yet on the dashboard?
Not in yet counts people whose shift has not started, so they are not due yet. Absent counts people whose shift has already started and who have not punched in, with no approved leave. People without a fixed shift start are counted as absent from 11 am.
Does the attendance dashboard include people on leave?
Yes. On leave counts everyone on approved leave today, and the On leave today card lists them with the leave type and marks half days. They are not counted as absent or not in yet, so the absent number shows only people who are actually missing.
Where can I see the full attendance details?
Click any count on the strip to open the matching tab of the live attendance card, or use Open Attendance Punches for the full live board with department and shift filters, each employee's day log, and the month's penalties and month close.
