How it works
- HR opens the dashboard and looks at Joiners and onboarding.
- Joining soon lists people joining in the next 30 days, each tagged Offer, Onboarding or Employee by where they are in the process.
- Joined this week lists the week's new employees.
- Onboarding in progress counts self-onboarding forms by status: Pending Profile, Partially Completed, Pending Approval and Changes Requested.
- Probation reviews due lists people whose probation ends soon, with Overdue in red for anyone past the end date, and a Review link to the probation queue.
- The Employees link opens the employee register, where HR approves onboarding and updates records.
What you can set
- Joining soon: the next 30 days.
- Sources: accepted offers from the Recruitment Hub, onboarding records and employee records.
- Onboarding statuses: Pending Profile, Partially Completed, Pending Approval and Changes Requested.
- Probation due: probations ending within 30 days, with overdue ones flagged.
- Links: Employees and Review probation.
- Scope: the viewer's employee data scope.
Why joiners and probation belong together
Both are moments where a missed step costs goodwill. A joiner who arrives to find no laptop, no ID card and an incomplete onboarding form starts badly. A confirmation that slips past its date leaves the person unsure of their status and HR on the back foot. Seeing both on the first screen each morning turns them into a short checklist instead of a scramble on the day itself.
Worked example: a busy fortnight at a Thiruvananthapuram software firm
On 1 October the HR lead at a 220-person software firm in Thiruvananthapuram opens the dashboard. Joining soon shows 9 people over the next 30 days: 4 tagged Offer, who have accepted but not started onboarding, 3 tagged Onboarding and 2 already set up as employees. Onboarding in progress shows 2 forms at Pending Approval and 1 at Changes Requested, where a joiner uploaded a blurred PAN card.
Probation reviews due lists 5 names, one marked Overdue: a developer whose six-month probation ended on 28 September without a manager review. The HR lead opens the probation queue and asks the manager for the review, and the manager rates him from My Team the same afternoon. HR confirms him the next day, and the confirmation letter is saved to his documents.
A weekly joiners routine
A short weekly routine, run on the same day each week, keeps joiners and confirmations from turning into last-minute work. Monday morning suits most HR teams, before the week's interviews and payroll inputs start to crowd the calendar and the phone starts ringing.
- Call every Offer-tagged joiner starting within 10 days and get onboarding started.
- Clear Pending Approval forms so employee records exist before day one.
- Ask managers for probation reviews as soon as a name appears, not when it turns red.
- Send the joiner list to IT and admin for laptops, ID cards and seats.

Where can HR see upcoming joiners?
On the HR dashboard, the Joiners and onboarding card lists people joining in the next 30 days, tagged Offer, Onboarding or Employee depending on where they are, plus the people who joined this week. The Recruitment card also shows the next joiners from accepted offers.
Does the dashboard show joiners who have not started onboarding?
Yes. Joining soon tags each person by where they are: Offer for someone who has accepted an offer but not started onboarding, Onboarding for someone whose self-onboarding form is in progress or awaiting approval, and Employee for someone whose record already exists.
What do the onboarding statuses on the dashboard mean?
They show where each self-onboarding form stands. Pending Profile means the joiner has not filled in their details yet, Partially Completed means some sections are done, Pending Approval means it waits for HR to check it, and Changes Requested means HR sent it back for a fix.
