How a shift swap works

The employee who needs the change finds a colleague with the right skills who is willing to swap. They agree on the dates, which can be the same day or two different days. The request goes to the manager, and sometimes HR, because a swap affects coverage, overtime and rest. Only after approval does the roster change; until then, both employees are expected on their original shifts. Rules that keep swaps safe
