What does a business excellence executive do?
A business excellence executive supports the BE manager by compiling department scorecards, preparing review packs, updating the improvement project tracker, running the suggestion scheme, organizing Kaizen and 5S events and helping project teams with data. It is a good entry point into quality and improvement careers.
What skills are required for a business excellence executive?
The role needs strong Excel skills, careful data checking, basic knowledge of 5S, Kaizen and Six Sigma tools, and clear writing for minutes and reports. Just as important is polite persistence, since much of the job is following up with busy managers on actions they agreed to.
What is the career growth for a business excellence executive?
After three to five years, executives with project results can move to Process Excellence Analyst, Senior Executive or Business Excellence Manager roles. Earning a Green Belt and then a Black Belt through completed projects speeds up the move, as does exposure to an external excellence assessment.
