How it works
- A manager signs in to the ZeniaHR app. Because people report to them, the team views appear next to their own self-service.
- The team live view shows who is working, on a break, out, late, not in yet or on leave across the whole reporting line.
- Approvals list the leave, attendance corrections and shift swaps waiting at the manager's step, with approve and reject.
- The overtime view lists the team's overtime requests for a decision.
- The roster view shows the team's shifts, and the leave calendar shows who is away on which days.
- Probation reviews can be rated from 1 to 5 with a comment, and team celebrations can be wished from the same app.
What you can set
- Team live view for the whole reporting line.
- Approvals: leave, attendance corrections and shift swaps.
- Overtime: approve or reject the team's requests.
- Team roster and team leave calendar.
- Probation reviews rated 1 to 5 with a comment.
- Celebrations: upcoming birthdays and anniversaries, with a wish.
- Morning summary notification from 9:30 am.
Why managers need approvals on the phone
A request that waits for the manager to reach a desk waits too long. The leave for next Friday stays pending, the correction is still open at month end, and last weekend's overtime misses the payroll cut-off. With approvals on the phone, a supervisor can clear the queue during a tea break. Every decision in the app is the same approval step as on the web, so HR sees it at once and can finish its part the same day.
Worked example: a warehouse supervisor in Bhiwandi
Mahesh Patil runs the morning team at a Bhiwandi warehouse and spends his day on the floor. At 9:30 am the summary on his phone shows 38 in, of whom 3 came late, 2 not in yet and 1 on leave. He opens the team live view, sees that one of the two not in yet is a forklift driver due at 9 am, and calls him.
During his 11 am tea break he opens approvals: two leave requests, one Forgot check-out correction and one shift swap between two loaders for Sunday. He checks the team leave calendar, approves both leaves and the correction, and approves the swap after confirming both loaders work the same dock. In the overtime view he approves four requests from the night team's inventory count, and all of it reaches HR before lunch.
Tips for managers using the app
The app works best as a short daily routine rather than a place to catch up once a week. Two or three brief visits a day keep the team's requests moving, the employees informed and the month-end close quiet for everyone.
- Read the 9:30 am summary before the first round of the floor.
- Check approvals at fixed times, such as tea breaks.
- Look at the leave calendar before approving leave in a busy week.
- Send probation reviews when the reminder arrives, not on the last day.

What can managers do in the ZeniaHR app?
Managers see the team live view, approve or reject leave, attendance corrections and shift swaps, decide the team's overtime, check the team roster and leave calendar, rate probation reviews, and wish team members on birthdays and anniversaries. They also use the app for their own attendance and leave.
Is there a separate app for managers?
No. Managers use the same ZeniaHR app as everyone else. The team views appear because people report to them, as set on their team members' profiles. When the reporting line changes, the views change with it, without any setting on the phone.
Do approvals made in the app go to HR as well?
Yes. Every request follows the same chain in the app and on the web: the reporting manager first, then HR. When a manager approves in the app, the request moves to HR at once, and HR gives the final approval before leave is deducted or a correction applied.
