How Haryana sets its minimum wages

Haryana fixes minimum wages under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, for workers in scheduled employments. Every worker is classified as unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled or highly-skilled, and each category has its own rate. Haryana applies one uniform rate across the whole state, with no zone classification, so the rate depends on the worker's skill category, not their district.

The wage tracks the cost of living through a dearness-allowance component linked to the All-India Consumer Price Index (AICPI), so it is revised periodically. The rates here are from Notification No. 2/25/26-2 Lab, effective 1 April 2026. Under Haryana's rules the wage must be paid as a whole and cannot be split into allowances. Always check the latest notification, as these rates move.

What employers in Haryana must do

For contractors and staffing firms deploying workers across many sites, keeping every worker at or above the correct Haryana rate by hand is error-prone. ZeniaHR payroll checks each worker's wage against the applicable state minimum automatically, and handles the registers and PF/ESI returns.
