How it works
- In the composer, tick Publish later and pick the date and time the post should go live.
- The post waits in the Scheduled view, then appears on the wall at that time without further action.
- Tick Take it down after a date and pick the last day on the wall; after that day the post no longer shows.
- HR and the Company Head can tick Pin to the top of the wall while writing, or pin an existing post later.
- Bells and acknowledgement requests for an announcement go out when it goes live, not when it was written.
- The Publish button changes to Schedule when a later time is set, so the choice is clear.
What you can set
- Publish later: a future date and time.
- Last day on the wall: optional end date.
- Pin: HR and the Company Head only.
- Scheduled view for posts waiting to go live.
- Works for announcements, general posts and polls.
- Pinned posts show above all other posts in the feed.
Why timing matters for notices
A holiday notice sent on a Friday night is read by a third of the staff. A canteen closure notice still pinned three weeks after the canteen reopened teaches people to ignore pinned posts. Scheduling lets HR write notices when there is time, often at month-end, and release them at the start of a working day or shift. A last day on the wall removes the notice once it is no longer true, so the pinned area stays short and trusted.
Worked example: a Diwali closure notice
HR at a textile trading firm in Surat writes the Diwali closure notice a week ahead, once the dates are confirmed. It is set to publish at 9:30 am on the Monday before the break, for the whole company, with acknowledgement on. HR pins it and sets the last day on the wall to the day the office reopens. On Monday at 9:30 the notice goes live, people get a bell, and it sits at the top of the wall through the week. After the reopening day it drops off, and the wall is clean for the next notice.
Tips for scheduling and pinning
Keep the top of the wall for what matters today. When five notices are pinned, none of them stands out, so pin sparingly, give every time-bound notice an end, and look ahead each week at what is scheduled to go out.
- Pin no more than two or three notices at a time.
- Give every time-bound notice a last day on the wall.
- Schedule shift-related notices for the start of the shift that needs them.
- Check the Scheduled view each Friday for the coming week.

Can I schedule an announcement in advance?
Yes. Tick Publish later in the composer and choose the date and time. The post waits in the Scheduled view and goes live on its own at that time, with bells to its audience then. This works for announcements, general posts and polls written on the web.
How do I remove an old notice automatically?
Give it a last day. In the composer, tick Take it down after a date and choose the last day on the wall. After that day the post no longer shows in the feed, so stale notices do not pile up at the top of the wall.
Who can pin posts on the company wall?
Pinning is for moderators, that is HR and the Company Head. They can pin a post while writing it or pin any existing post later, and unpin it when it no longer needs to stay on top. Pinned posts appear above all other posts in the feed.
Do people get notified when a scheduled post goes live?
Yes, for announcements. Bells for a scheduled announcement or acknowledgement request go out when the post goes live, not when it was written. People are reminded at the moment the notice becomes relevant, and nobody gets a bell for a post they cannot see yet.
