Job requisitions

Every hire starts with a requisition: which role, how many openings, where, at what salary and with which skills. In ZeniaHR, HR records each requisition with its department, location, employment type, salary range, experience, required skills, job description, hiring manager, recruiter and priority. Publishing it opens a public job page; saving it as a draft keeps it internal. When joiners fill the last opening, the requisition closes by itself.

How it works

  1. In Recruitment Hub, create a requisition with the job title, department, location and number of openings.
  2. Add the employment type, the salary range in rupees, the experience required and the required skills, separated by commas.
  3. Write the job description and key responsibilities, and name the hiring manager, the recruiter and the priority.
  4. Press Publish Requisition to open it with a public job post, or save it as a draft and publish it later.
  5. Track requisitions by status, Open, Draft or Closed, with a department filter and a search box.
  6. When the candidates who join fill all the openings, ZeniaHR closes the requisition and says so.

What you can set

Why every hire should start with a requisition

A requisition records what was agreed before anyone is interviewed: the number of openings, the salary range and the skills that matter. Without it, a manager's quick request on the phone turns into three hires instead of two, or a salary nobody budgeted. In ZeniaHR the requisition does more than record the agreement. Its required skills, experience and job description are what every resume is scored against, so a carefully written requisition directly improves the order in which HR reads applications.

Worked example: CNC operators for a Ludhiana plant

An auto components maker in Ludhiana needs three CNC operators. HR creates the requisition: Production department, Ludhiana plant, 3 openings, Full-Time, a salary range of ₹2,40,000 to ₹3,00,000 a year, 2 years' experience, and required skills of CNC turning, G-code, reading engineering drawings and using a vernier and micrometer. The plant head is the hiring manager and the priority is High.

HR publishes it and shares the public job link with two ITI placement cells. Over five weeks, three candidates are selected, receive offers and join. When the third joins on 20 November 2026, ZeniaHR closes the requisition, and the Closed Positions tile moves up by one.

Writing requisitions that attract the right people

List four to six required skills in the words candidates use on their resumes, since the match score looks for them. Keep nice-to-have skills out of the required list. Give a realistic salary range and the real location, because both decide who applies. Write responsibilities as the work of an actual week, such as setting up two machines per shift, rather than a list of adjectives.

Frequently asked questions

What is a job requisition?

A job requisition is the formal request to fill a position, recording the role, the number of openings, the salary range, the skills needed and who is hiring. In ZeniaHR it is where every hire starts: publishing it opens the public job page, and its skills are used to score each application.

Can I save a requisition before publishing it?

Yes. Save it as a draft while the details are being agreed. Drafts stay internal, count under draft requirements on the Recruitment Hub, and can be published later, which opens the public job page and starts taking applications.

When does a requisition close?

Automatically, when the number of candidates who have joined reaches the openings on the requisition; ZeniaHR tells HR when it happens. HR can also close an open requisition by hand, for example when the role is put on hold.
