Frequently asked questions

What does an ERP manager do?

An ERP manager owns a company's ERP system and makes sure it supports finance, purchase, inventory, production and sales correctly. They prioritize change requests, manage the ERP team and vendor, control user access, support month-end and year-end closing, lead rollouts to new locations and keep master data clean.

What is the difference between an ERP manager and an ERP executive?

An ERP executive handles daily ERP work: user support, master data entry, report runs and first-level fixes. An ERP manager decides which changes are made, manages vendors and consultants, controls access and upgrades, and answers to the IT head and finance for how well the ERP supports the business.

Which ERP skills are in demand in India?

SAP S/4HANA experience is widely asked for in large manufacturing and services companies, and Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics 365 are common in others. Many small and mid-sized Indian businesses run Tally Prime with custom TDL add-ons. Employers value ERP managers who understand business processes and GST as well as the software.
