Manager self-service

My Team gives every manager a view of their own people without asking HR for a report. Anyone with someone reporting to them gets it automatically: a live board of who is working, late, on leave or not in yet, the requests waiting on them, the team's overtime, probation reviews to rate, a team leave calendar, and birthdays and anniversaries to celebrate. The same views are in the app, and a summary of the morning arrives at 9:30 am.

Who uses it

ManagersCheck who is in each morning, approve or reject requests waiting at their step, rate probation reviews, plan leave on the team calendar, and give praise.
HR teamSets each employee's reporting manager so the right people appear on My Team, and takes each request over once the manager has decided.
EmployeesRaise leave, correction, work from home, shift swap and overtime requests that reach their manager first, and receive praise and wishes.

Who counts as a manager

In ZeniaHR a manager is not a separate login role. Anyone whose employee record has at least one person reporting to it sees My Team. The reporting line is set on each employee's profile, in the organization assignment, and the org chart shows it as a tree. The live board, the morning summary, celebrations and probation reviews cover the manager's whole reporting line, direct and indirect, while each approval waits for the manager whose step it is, usually the direct manager.

Approvals follow one fixed chain

Leave, attendance corrections, work from home and on duty requests, shift swaps and overtime all go to the reporting manager first and then to HR. The chain is fixed, so employees always know where a request is and nobody has to design workflows. When a manager approves, the request moves on to HR; when a manager rejects, it closes. The approval engine lets a manager decide only while a request waits at their step, so nothing can skip them or be decided twice. Probation reviews work differently: the manager rates each person from 1 to 5 with a comment, and HR decides the confirmation in the probation queue.

My Team on the phone

Managers on the shop floor, at a branch or on the road use the same views in the employee app: the team live board, approvals for leave, corrections and swaps, overtime decisions, the team roster, probation reviews and the leave calendar. A decision made on the phone is the same decision as on the web, recorded against the same approval step, so HR sees it the moment it is made.

Frequently asked questions

What can a manager see on My Team?

The live board for their reporting line, each direct report's day and shift, the requests waiting on them, the team's overtime, probation reviews to rate, a team leave calendar, and birthdays and work anniversaries coming up in the next 30 days. Managers see only their own reporting line, not other teams.

How does ZeniaHR know who reports to whom?

Each employee record has a reporting manager, set by HR in the organization assignment on the employee's profile. My Team uses that line, including indirect reports further down, and the org chart draws the same tree. If a person appears under the wrong manager, HR fixes it on that person's profile.

Can a manager approve requests from the phone?

Yes. The employee app gives managers the team live view and approvals for leave, corrections and shift swaps, plus overtime decisions, the team roster, probation reviews and the leave calendar. Each decision is recorded against the same approval step as a decision made on the web.

Can a manager change the approval chain?

No. Every request follows a fixed chain: the reporting manager first, then HR. This keeps approvals predictable and needs no setup. If a manager is away, the company head can decide in their place, and HR can change reporting lines on employee profiles when teams change.
